Born in Woodbridge, Suffolk, Roger became passionate about music at school, later studying at Colchester Institute School of Music. After playing jazz piano in London, he returned to East Anglia. Eno has worked with artists such as Peter Hammill, The Orb, Lou Reed, Jarvis Cocker, and Beck. He also collaborated with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois on Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks in 1983, and was part of the ambient supergroup Channel Light Vessel. In addition to his music career, he was a Musical Director for Tim Robbins’ band, The Rogues Gallery.

Roger Eno has composed for theatre and film, including Trevor Nunn’s Betrayal and Nick Hornby’s Emmy-winning TV series State of the Union. He has also contributed to numerous film soundtracks, including the 2022 documentary Breaking the Wall.

Living in a small town on the Suffolk-Norfolk border, Eno finds inspiration in the rural landscape. His creative process is described as “decomposing,” where he improvises in the morning and strips away excess to find the essence of the piece.

Lost in Translation

A musical scrapbook in many ways, it comprises of no less than twenty tracks, probably being his richest, most diverse, unified, yet emotionally broad work thus far. Most of the tracks are less than three minutes long, and they all flow together to create a unified whole.

Between Tides

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios and in a church in his then home-town of Woodbridge, Between Tides is a wonderful, warm hearted classical album of piano-lead melancholy and pastoral beauty. Soothing, melodic, unexpected depth and beauty.

Little Things Left Behind

Brings together a selection of material from some of Eno’s most celebrated releases. Roger Eno is known for his distinguished and delicate modern classical compositions focusing mainly on piano. Here One Gull is a prime example, effortlessly simplistic yet utterly refined.

Swimming

Eno play a host of instruments, but what’s striking is his voice; unaffected and dignified, emotional but never saccharine. This album points not only to Eno’s considerable ability and diversity as a composer, but to the depth of his heart and how well he listens to his Muse.
